Lorna Leedy grew up on an island in Washington's Puget Sound.
As a child she had a pet flying squirrel. Leedy started out as a reader and maker of artist's books. Later, a series of art accidents led her to fashion.
Presently Leedy and her Park Ranger husband migrate seasonally, carrying her sewing studio in a Eurovan Camper. Currently they spend summers at Mt. Rainier National Park in Washington, where they live in the forest by the Ohanapecosh River. Winters are spent in the glamorous big city of Marfa, TX. In between times they can be found in New Orleans or Joshua Tree National Park or North Park, CO. Fancy Pony Land is inspired by animals, birds and the natural world.
